The Caregiver Support Program
The Caregiver Support Program aids caregivers of adults age 60 and older on a short-term
basis. Assistance is limited to a three-month time period per calendar year with
a cost ceiling for services.
The program can assist with a variety of services, including in-home respite, adult
day care, caregiver counseling, institutional respite in a licensed facility, and
durable medical equipment.
To enroll, caregivers must call Senior Options
at
(614) 525-6200. A case manager
will complete a confidential application over the phone and determine eligibility.
They will also assist the caregiver in determining what type of service is needed.
A contribution may be suggested for some services. The contribution amount is based
solely on the income of the care recipient. Contributions are voluntary; participants
will not be denied service due to inability to pay.
Caregiver Support is accessible through the Senior Options program, but the two
programs have different qualifying criteria.
